Volkswagen Vento Facelift – What Autoportal has to say

The Volkswagen Vento is an internationally acclaimed sedan from the German car maker. The Volkswagen India Private Limited (VIPL) has launched the sedan Vento in the Indian market in the year 2011. During the 2014 Geneva auto show a refreshed version of the Vento has been showcased. The Vento Facelift has been launched in India in September 2014. In less than a year another refreshed model has been launched on 23rd June 2015.

The Vento Facelift has 5 petrol and 5 diesel variants each in trims of Trendline, Comfortline, Highline, Comfortline AT and Highline AT.  Two variants each in petrol and diesel have automatic transmission. The Vento facelift is priced Rupees 7.85 to 11.87 lakh.

The Vento Facelift has some changes when compared to the exterior of the old model. The new front chrome grille with three slats, a re-profiled bonnet with deeper curves and a wider air dam and fog lamps integrated with cornering lights give a new front fascia. Other changes include a new bumper with chrome strips and reflectors at the rear.

The spacious cabin of the Vento Facelift has new additional features like cruise control, a dead pedal and cooled glove box. The standard features include 2 air bags, an engine immobilizer, child lock and central locking facilities, a manual AC, power steering with tilt and telescopic column, power windows, fabric seats, rear parking sensors and internally operated ORVMs with turn indicators. Top variants have an automatic AC, ABS, electric body coloured ORVMs, rear defogger, fog lamps at the front and rear and a 2 Din music system with Bluetooth connectivity for Phone and audio streaming additionally.


The Vento Facelift petrol manual variants are powered by 1598 cc, 103 bhp and 153 NM torque engines giving mileages of 16.09 kmpl. The automatic variants with 1197 cc, 103 bhp and 153 NM torque engine have mileages of 18.19 kmpl. The diesel variants have 1.5 litre, 103 bhp and 250 NM torque engines with fuel efficiencies of 20.64 kmpl for manual variants 21.5 kmpl for diesel ones.

The 4384 mm long Vento Facelift will has a wheel base of 2552 mm and a ground clearance of 163 mm with a boot of 494 litres. The suspensions are McPherson struts with stabiliser bars at the front and semi independent trailing arms at the rear. The tyres are R14 type for the base and R15 for the top variants.

Top build quality, a sophisticated design, good ride and handling and well tuned powerful engines are the plus points of the Vento facelift. The rejuvenated Volkswagen Vento has to compete with the sedans like the Honda City, the Toyota Corolla Altis, the Skoda Rapid and the Hyundai 4S Verna.
